The Impact of Presidential Candidates On the Media OR What Obama Should Have Done on Fox News

In a logical turn of events, Barack Obama's recent appearance on Fox News, which while a good interview, was not an attempt to "take Fox on" as promised by an Obama surrogate on Greg Sargent's blog, has birthed much criticism. Many, including Chris and Kos, had hoped that Obama would in fact attack the network when asked inevitably irrelevant questions about the "scandals" around his campaign. Instead, it amounted to ironically Clintonian Triangulation, on issues such as abortion, taxes, regulation, and John Roberts. While he didn't "throw Kos under the bus" as claimed by many, he did use him as a point of distancing himself from "the Left." In a strange, though honestly predictable turn of events, many Obama supporters are refusing to criticize the move, and many are even defending it as a means by which to court more voters, with claims such as:

Spitzer =/= Clinton UPDATE: The other side

This will be a short diary, as I should not even need to write this. I am seeing, in the comments sections of several major blogs, a new meme amongst some (and I emphasize the word, as it is not all) Obama supporters, somehow trying to connect the upsetting Prostitution Ring scandal of Gov. Eliot Spitzer to Hillary Clinton. Luckily, no one has been ignorant enough to claim she had something to do with it, but they are all trying to claim that this will hurt her, that the Republicans will use this against her, etc.

Hello, this is a letter for all people who are on the ground in Conneticut. What I want is an honest response; no rhetoric, no assumptions, just what you honestly believe. This is not meant to be negative, only as a way for me to get some basic idea of what is happening in Connecticut.

MyDD Down; Media Reactions

Tue Aug 08, 2006 at 02:13:13 PM PDT

In a striking set of events, the popular liberal website "MyDD" has become to act slowly, at some points not even loading up at all! Liberal Blogger Matt Stoller has claimed that the Lieberman campaign has been hacking the website.

Check below the fold for the media's reaction.

CT-Sen (does it take much more at this point?)

Sun Aug 06, 2006 at 12:13:54 AM PDT

Hey, this is my first diary and will probably be a short one at that, so bear with me.

Now, I have been coming to Daily Kos and Mydd for a while now, a little over a year, and have become quite addicted to the blogosphere as a whole (I check it about once an hour).  Even though I share Mr. Lieberman's religion, I've never liked the man, mainly for his views on censorship. Now, this is my first diary, mainly because I honestly want to ask a question. Who do you think we are going to win in Conneticut?
